If you observe a black image in the image viewer (Live mode) but already checked if the lens cap has been removed as well the aperture is open, please check if you are using the IP Address 169.xxx.xxx.xxx as the camera IP Range. If that is the case, please change it to 192.xxx.xxx.xxx or 10.xxx.xxx.xxx but first set a new IP Address for your GigE Adapter.
169.xxx.xxx.xxx is used by Microsoft Systems as default IP Range in case the Adapter is set to receive a IP Address from a DHCP Server - but there isn't one present in the Network.
